MJF2014 Participant: Alexey Kochetkov (violin, Israel)

Israel, Tel Aviv

Hello. My name is Alexey Kochetkov. I'm a violinist. I'm 28 years old. I started my classical vio-lin education when I was seven. After finishing a music college in Smolensk I moved to Israel, studied here at Rubin academy of music and dance in Jerusalem.

During 9 years of living and performing in Israel I was influenced by local music genres. Now I play Mediterranean, oriental and western European music, participating different bands and co-operating with local artists.

For two last years I'm running my own band. We are playing various world music genres from all over the globe. The band performing around Israel. We also performed abroad in Berlin, Geneva and Singapore.

The reason I want to participate the festival is because I think it can be great artistic experience to mix oriental and mediterranean music in a live jazz jam session and I hope maybe something big will come out from this extraordinary meeting of musicians from all over the world.
