Guitarist, trombonist, arranger and composer, Emiliano Sampaio lives nowadays in Graz (Austria). He studies Jazz Composition with Ed Partyka, Michael Abene and Ed Neumeister at Universit?t f?r Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz. Born in S?o Paulo in 1984, he studied Popular Music in the University from Campinas (Unicamp), where he got a Bachelor and a Master degree with the research “The compositions of Nailor Proveta for the Banda Mantiqueira”. During the years in Campinas, he started the partnership with Luis Andre Gigante and Gustavo Boni and created the group “Meretrio”, that after some years became the nonet “Mereneu Project” and the “Mere Bigband”, always developing own compositions for small and large ensembles. As arranger and composer, worked with many artists, as HR Frankfurt Radio Big Band, Badi Assad, Dominguinhos, Trombone Quartet of Campinas, Rebecca Sharp and Golden Ground, Bruno Moraes, Pipo Pegoraro and wrote Orchestra pieces for the First Brass Festival Carlos Gomes in Brazil, for the Regensburg Jazz Orchestra, Projeto Coisa Fina and KUG Saxophone Quartet. Emiliano also worked as guitar player and trombonist in the Big Bands HGM Jazz Orchestra, KUG Jazz Orchestra, Graz Composers Orchestra, Rob Spelberg Jazz Orchestra and in musicals such as Emo??es Baratas, New York New York, Witches of Eastwick and Aida. In 2014 he will release the new album of his nonet "Mereneu Project" only with original compositions.
