Participant: Vyacheslav Khavrenok (violin, Ukraine)

Ukraine, Odessa

“I graduated from the school of arts as a violinist. Besides school repertoire I played a lot of folk music and participated in rock groups.
I studied in musical school. Since 2005 I have been interested in the concept of the worldmusic/ethnicfusion genres. In 2009 I gathered the ethno-jazz group, called "Suzir’ya" (ukr. Constellation), with which it was possible to visit numerous festivals, representing Odessa ethno-jazz scene.
I played in various interesting experimental projects of Odessa. It would like to emphasize ‘RevolvingGrainsProject’.
As I represent one of the least typical for jazz instruments, I try to popularize and continue traditions of such outstanding masters as Stephane Grappelli, Joe Venuti, Staff Smith with my creativity, playing as well the traditional jazz.
I also study at the fourth year of the Odessa state musical academy of A.V. Nezhdanova vocals department. Not so long ago I was a prize-winner of the International competition and the soloist of the Nikolayev academic Ukrainian theater of drama and musical comedy.”
