Nominees for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Dec. 5.
Among the nominees in the jazz categories are recordings by Chick Corea and Gary Burton, Ravi Coltrane, Brad Mehldau, Kurt Elling, Es peranza Spalding, Pat Metheny, Kenny Garrett, Denise Donatelli, Luciana Souza, Al Jarreau, Robert Glasper and Ahmad Jamal.
The late Dave Brubeck and his son Chris were nominated in the category of Best Instrumental Composition for the track «Music of Ansel Adams: America,» recorded by the Temple University Symphony Orchestra.
JT contributor Fernando Gonzalez was nominated in the Best Album Notes category. Winners will be announced at the awards show in Los Angeles on Feb. 10
