Guitarist William Perez graduated as Master in Music from Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia in 2008, in his personal projects he is always in constant search and includes elements of jazz, rock and classical music. He has participated in the festival of Jazz al Parque, the most important festival in Colombia in the years 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2013 he released his first solo album entitled Karma Dharma with Festina Lente Records. This year he won the first prize at the Jazz al Parque Contest. In 2012 he became the Best Jazz Soloist in the Voces del Jazz Festival in Cartagena Colombia, and shared the first prize with Julian Gomez Quartet group. William took private lessons with guitarists Steve Cardenas (USA), Ben Monder (USA), Ale Demogli (Argentina), Lupa Santiago (Brazil), Juan Pablo Arredondo (Argentina), Kike Mendoza (Colombia), Richard Narvaez (Colombia) , Alejandro Flores (Colombia), Joseph Mat?u (Spain), Norbert Scholly (Germany), Jacobo Velez (Venezuela), Dimitri Reznic (Russia), Vine Valentino (USA) among others. He has performed in various theaters and jazz clubs in various cities throughout the country and also in such countries as Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and others. In his discography discs are: Karma Dharma as leader (2013), La Red (The Red Trio) (2007), ... (Etcetera) (2011), coming second album La Red (2014).
He is currently professor and coordinator of guitar at Fernando Sor School and Universidad El Bosque in Bogota, Colombia.
