Dimitris Angelakis was born in Greece in 1983. From the early age of six he got a musical background playing the piano and the percussion. After that he has graduated from the Music Department of Aristotle University (Greece) and also holds a classical percussion diploma (and many other classical studies). His professional musical career begun as a sideman in many bands playing different styles of music such as jazz, latin and funk. In the past years he has performed with many musicians in Greece and in Europe in several events, festivals (Inernational Meeting Kostas Kouvidis) and conferences (ISME with the Delaware steel, USA). He has also participated in many workshops/private lessons with Tony Miceli, David Friedman and Christos Rafalides, among others. Nowadays he is fully devoted in playing the vibraphone and getting the people to know this amazing instrument.
